We spoke with GURUS Solutions about how companies can build a NetSuite environment that stays connected as the business around it becomes more complex.
For someone hearing about GURUS Solutions for the first time—what do you actually do, in plain English?
GURUS Solutions is a NetSuite-focused consulting firm that helps companies implement, integrate, optimize, and manage their ERP environment. That includes connecting NetSuite with other business-critical systems so financial and operational information can move more consistently across the organization.
What’s breaking (or slowing down) for finance teams today—and why is it becoming harder to ignore?
Adding technology doesn’t necessarily eliminate manual work. When business systems aren’t connected effectively, finance teams can still find themselves moving data between applications, resolving duplicate records, reconciling discrepancies, and assembling reports from information that lives in different places.
The challenge becomes more pronounced as the business grows. Acquisitions, new sales channels, additional locations, and changing operational requirements can all expand the technology footprint. Without a clear integration strategy, the ERP may be capable of supporting growth while the processes surrounding it become increasingly difficult to manage.
Who tends to get the most value from this—and where does it typically click fastest?
Periods of change tend to reveal where the technology environment needs attention. Growing mid-market companies, businesses completing acquisitions or carve-outs, and organizations moving between systems often have to reconsider how their ERP and surrounding applications work together.
Manufacturing, distribution, eCommerce, software, and professional services are common environments for this work. CFOs and Controllers typically bring the financial requirements, while CIOs, business systems teams, and operations leaders help determine how information needs to move across the broader organization.
If a finance team started using your approach tomorrow, where would they feel the impact first?
The first opportunity often appears wherever employees are manually bridging two systems. Connecting NetSuite with a WMS, eCommerce platform, CRM, manufacturing system, payroll application, shipping provider, or 3PL can reduce duplicate entry and make financial information available with fewer handoffs.
From there, the work can extend into order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory and fulfillment, reporting, and broader financial automation. For companies already running NetSuite, optimization may be just as important as implementation—particularly when existing configurations or integrations no longer reflect how the business operates today.
How does this fit into the existing finance tech stack—and how does it hold up as the business grows?
NetSuite remains at the center of the environment, while APIs and integration platforms connect it with the applications surrounding it. GURUS works with integration technologies including Boomi, Workato, Celigo, and Oracle Integration to design those connections around the organization’s specific processes and data requirements.
As companies add entities, locations, products, transactions, or acquired businesses, the goal is to keep that architecture from becoming unnecessarily complicated. GURUS brings roughly two decades of NetSuite-focused experience to that challenge, helping organizations evolve their ERP and integrations as the business changes rather than continually adding manual workarounds around them.
